Water gardens

My comments 2008

January

I have never thought much to solar operated fountains, I was talking to Exclusive Fountains and they said they think so so too, so much so they have written this page Even though they supply solar operated fountains they get people thinking solar is just as good as mains.

February

Just come back from B & Q, I noticed their "display" of water features has now gone, no its not because its  Feb. I think its because they were not that good in the first place, but more to the point the water level was never topped up in them so they often did nothing other than make noises, if you have a water feature, make sure it is kept topped up with water.

I just love UK tv garden's forums (Tongue in cheek)

Just seen this on there

Hi, i have noticed at the end of the step by step it says cut the liner approx 225mm ... but my pond is hard plastic an curled under at the rim, what do i do Confused

The poster did not pay attention, the guide clearly shows / said flexible liner, he has a rigid liner, the other thing that really tickles me about those forums is the number of people that still ask can you come and do my make over, to Ground Force, they stopped making the programme in 2005 , click here

Its a similar thing with Charlie  Dimmock, people think she actually reads the messages

Don't believe me click here

Just goes to show people do not read what is in front of them. (I never liked Miss Dimmock much anyway, (we all know why  blokes watch it, I only watch to see the water features and ponds, and the gaffs ) since she said the trouble with fountains is you never know how high they will be, that's absolute rubbish, I am trying to get a sound clip where she says it, if you have it send it to me)

Yes, I know I "killed the forums stone dead" with my factual comments, but some one had to since the hosts were not going to do it.

When will people learn? I have just seen a "pump" on eBay  for £100 less than a new one, the seller even links to it, yes it was never used, but would you buy it? no, neither would I, the other thing is the pump in question has been out of production for the last 3 years, so its not as "new" as the seller claims, the auction ended, and not one bid. it has since been re listed now with £300 off, and still not one bid, the reason is, the starting bid is £200

I have also been working on here, I have added the following pages

Puddled clay      Monoliths

March

The Fountains society after several emails they corrected an error they had regarding the status of a fountain, they said it was working but it has not worked in over 3 years. I wonder how many others are wrong?

April

I don't believe this (well yes I do) some one has just asked for a Ground Force make over on UK TV style garden's website, the words dense and reality spring to mind, (Bear in mind Ground Force finished production in 2005) go on have a look  click here

Had a shuffle round of the website. water features  and fountains now have their own home pages.

Got a comment? then share it with me.

May

I have had server problems, and as a result all hit counters have now been set to zero

June

E-bay, i have to laugh, two people selling the same thing, both used little, but look at the starting price of the 2nd one, I am not surprised no one is bidding for it.

Look at this, its being sold for a friend who no longer has a shop, yes its RRP was around £400,  yes he is losing money, but look at the starting price, oh and the Nautilus 400 is obsolete.

Don't forget, if you have a different opinion, then email it to me.

July

Its the height of the season, why not build a water feature or pond? and do send me your pictures
