Burying cable
You have decided where your low voltage lights are going, but how are
you going to get to that tree which is in the lawn? you do not want to
dig a trench as you must for mains cables, try this.
Once you have decided the exact location of your low voltage lights
and you need to cross a lawn, if you lay the cable across the lawn to
its end location, with a sharp spade press down say 4 inches (20 cm) and
then push the spade forwards while still in the ground. Then lift the
spade up and put it 1inch (2,5 cm) into where you now have a
"cut" Repeat as necessary until you have a continuous line
from where where you started to you finish position. (see pic 1) Then
simply push the cable into the "cut" along its length and
press down with your foot along the "cut" so you can no longer
see the cable. (see pic 2)
