Great advice. Thank you for your assistance and for the references to your supplemental articles. (By the way, I our weather here in coastal Washington is notoriously rainy as well. Maybe I can hope for the same performance from my project as you got with yours.)

Soooooooo I should be ok....but if I get stuck?? in the mud, or the
planned hole I intend to dig? "I will be back"

Hi Martin, Just looked at your site and breathed a sigh of relief…at last a great site, with straightforward advice. I have just moved into a house in Sunderland, UK and have inherited a medium sized pond, I am just about to tidy it up but had no clue about pumps and filtration for garden ponds (aquariums no worries...ponds…hopeless). Half an hour well spent on your site and I am off and running, just wanted to say thanks for the advice…keep up the good advice.
