Flow graph

Flow graph, what does it mean, what use is it?

A pump flow graph is used to determine how much water a pump can pump and to what height.

Using the graph above as an example: (each small line is 4 gallons)

If the pump outlet is 1 foot from the water surface you will get  96 gallons  per hour

If the pump outlet is 2 feet from the water surface you  get 76 gallons  per hour

If the pump outlet is 3 feet from the water surface you  get 48 gallons  per hour

If the pump outlet is 4 feet from the water surface you  get 0 gallons  per hour

So you can see the higher the water outlet is from the water surface the less water will flow. Most pumps will have a flow graph on the box, make sure the pump you choose is suitable.
