How do
the fountains at Bellagio reach so high so quick?
That is due to clever engineering and design, there are two
cylinders side by side, the taller cylinder has a cone with the tip
removed to form a nozzle. The 2nd cylinder is connected to the first
cylinder via a pipe, this pipe has a valve. Both cylinders are just below
the water surface , The 2nd cylinder is filled with compressed air to high
pressure. The 1st cylinder fills with water from its surrounds, when its
required to operate the valve is opened allowing the high pressure air to
force the water out at great speed. the cycle is then
repeated as and when required. But do bear in mind this is its principal
and it has a copyright.

I have just brought a solar pump, i want to build a
fountain with lots of water jets on it, I want the jets to be
about 3m high, can you suggest which ones please, the pump has an outlet
of 15mm.
Without knowing what the pump is I can not be specific, but most solar
pumps can not run more than one nozzle with the water reaching about 2
feet in height on a bright sunny day if you are lucky, let alone 3 m high.

Big fountain
I have seen a very big pond with a fountain in the middle is it just an
ordinary fountain?
Without seeing it I can not comment, but i can tell you that you can have
floating fountains, these are literally a float with a pump
underneath and a nozzle on the top, they come in a variety of sizes, the
bigger ones used for big areas cost tens of thousands of pounds each, no i
am not joking. As you can see, some floating fountains really are big.

Floating fountains are very good in large lakes because by its nature the
water level in a lake will vary trough time (days) A floating fountain
will always sit on the water surface, where as a fixed pump will be
sticking out proud if the water level drops too much.
