Pond lighting

Pond lighting one or two lights?

Often when purchasing a light for a water feature or pond lighting most people will look to see what is available then buy the cheapest  and "make it fit".

From a price point of view that is fine, but from a design aspect it is wrong.

Suppose that the above is a pool,  with four 20 watt lamps (2 blue, 2 green)  this will give a nice (although staggered) effect, it will give an even light to the pool. We will also assume that each light cost £10 that's £40 in total now if you were to buy a cheaper but brighter light say one 80 watt light costing £25 it is £15 cheaper, just as bright but where would you put it? and what colour would you use green or blue?

So although you save £15 on the cost, the effect is totally different. So when looking at lights think what effect do you want rather than price alone. Please note the figures used are for example only
