Pond Liner repair

Pond liner repair, for flexible liners

Your liner needs a repair, what can you do? there are quite a few liner repair kits available from your local water garden centre, most require you to clean the liner and stick a patch over the hole, they are really that simple.

But suppose you haven't got a repair kit what can you do? Ideally a liner repair kit is best, but if you have some silicone sealant (it must be silicone sealant NOT just sealant) you should clean the liner , then apply a thin layer of silicone sealant, next attach a piece of liner onto the silicone sealant, press firmly.

Where do you get a spare piece of liner? well as you should only need a small piece why not cut a very small piece off from a corner that is normally hidden.

Accidents will always happen but the best thing is not to puncture the liner in the first place, always make sure that there are no stones when you lay the liner, cover the hole with a 2 inch layer of sand, or a pre-liner, never use carpet on newspaper as they will soon rot, giving no protection at all
