Pond questions 3 ********************************* Can I cover the bottom of my pond with gravel? Yes you can, but its not recommended. Its done in fish ponds to hold plants down and sometimes to act as a gravel filter. But a pond often has a liner underneath that can be punctured by stones, and if you use it as a gravel filter, do you really want to clean around a tonne of gravel every year?
