Pre made water feature ? I have written this after buying a pre made water feature If you buy a "pre made -self contained water feature you should be aware of the following Some features splash quite a lot, this will make the surrounding floor wet, if carpeted it may ruin your carpet Try and see a feature working before you buy it How heavy is it Is it stable Is the pump easily accessible (for cleaning) I am not saying that all pre made water features "need modifying", just some. The particular one I bought did say that it can be "quite violent" so after filling it up and plugging it in i soon found out what "quite violent" means. (it splashes all over the sides on the top tier) In my opinion it is of poor design, not enough drainage holes, too much splashing (it did say you could add decorative stones but to me this spoil's it), not enough movement of water over the sides, so with a little adaptation i have changed it |

Here is the original water feature as you can see the water in the top
tier is as the makers say "quite violent" But if i turned the pump down the "over flow" is very feeble
Even at best you can not really see the over flow actually flowing |

As you can see by adding a simple T piece the water is no where near
as violent. to over come the feeble overflow, i added a small rigid plastic sheet which is secured by silicone sealant, in my opinion it gives it a much better look |

How is this after "modifications", no "violent splash" and more water over the "overflow" (its not really more water, its just that now you can see the water flowing) |
| Over all, its not really THAT bad, i also appreciate that
being a one piece moulding that clear waterfalls could not be put in, but
grey ones could, as could a small t piece be "thrown in the box"
