Stand alone pool

Stand alone pool, how to install one

You may have seen one of these its a fibre glass pool. We have been asked to show you how easy it is to install one. Similar rules apply for an "ordinary" fibre glass pool.
After deciding its location it should be marked out (we used a large red rope) but you can use a hose or sand. We already knew the ground was not level, so after the grass was removed (see helpful hints)

Some digging had to take place to make sure the base was LEVEL.

To ensure that the base is totally level if you use just sand that is fine for a sunken pool, but as this is raised we mixed in cement, because rain is liable to wash sand away. Checking that the base is LEVEL the pool was placed in its "home" we did not make the cement wet as it will draw moisture from the ground. If you are fitting a sunken pool you would need to "backfill the sides" as it fills, Checking the LEVEL as you go.
